The Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at the insurance group, Hollard Ghana, Cynthia Ofori-Dwumfuo, is the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana’s (CIMG) Marketing Practitioner of the Year, 2021.
She was honoured at the just-ended 33rd Annual National Marketing Performance Awards ceremony at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
This year’s event was under the theme “Creative Marketing and Innovation in a Volatile Global Economy.” CIMG recognised Cynthia for leading Hollard Ghana’s innovative brand-building efforts. In addition, they cited her for excellence in marketing insights, people, corporate and reputation management, CSR, and sound marketing strategies.
According to the Institute, this set Cynthia and Hollard apart as corporate achievers for 2021.
Cynthia expressed gratitude to the Governing Council of CIMG for the honour. She said, “Thank you! It’s fulfilling to be acknowledged by the prestigious CIMG for our quest to create and secure a better future through inventive marketing. In 2021, Cynthia was named a top 25 innovator in Europe, the Middle East & Africa in the prestigious SABRE (Superior Achievement in Branding, Reputation, and Engagement) Innovator 25 list by globally respected PRovoke Media. Moreso, she is called one of the Top 10 Women in PR by Women in PR Ghana and listed by Avance Media among the 50 Most Influential Young Ghanaians in Leadership and Civil Society.
Cynthia is currently the Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Hollard Ghana. Previously, she held senior roles at top advertising and communications agencies and worked in the USA, UK and pan-Africa. Consulting, she coordinated local and international projects, some funded by Rockefeller Foundation and CGAP/World Bank.
Cynthia is the Board Chair for the Springboard Roadshow Foundation and serves on several boards, including the executive council of the Institute of Public Relations Ghana.
She is an Accredited Public Relations Professional (APR) with an MA in Professional Communication from Clemson University, USA, and a BA in Economics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Vodafone Ghana won three different awards at the Ghana Business Awards and the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) Awards held over the weekend.
At the Ghana Business Awards, Vodafone Ghana was named Telecommunications Company of the Year, and Patricia Obo-Nai, the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), won the CEO of the Year (Private Sector) Award.
At the CIMG Awards, Vodafone Ghana was again named the Telecommunications Company of the Year.
The two prestigious awards schemes recognise, and reward excellence based on rigorous criteria for shortlisting nominees. Key indicators for awards in these schemes include, among other things, technology and innovation, excellence, and impact on society.
Speaking about the awards, Patricia Obo-Nai said that Vodafone Ghana’s success is due to the support of its customers and all stakeholders.
